Not quite the week I was hoping for in Abu Dhabi as you can imagine…and always a hard pill to swallow missing cuts at the Rolex Series events since there are so many points on offer there. However, there are still a lot of positives for me to focus on since, despite my body taking time to adapt back to competition mode, my game is still generally in good shape and I played a lot of great shots on some of the tougher holes out there last week there too.

So although it was not the start I wanted to get my 2021 season off to, it’s also hard not to be excited about what’s still coming up on my schedule over the next few weeks!

First and foremost, the Dubai Desert Classic is honestly one of the best events we play all year round and the Majilis Course at the Emirates Golf Club is truly an incredible venue. Although the majority of the courses in Dubai seem to boast impressively enjoyable set-ups, I think the course here at Emirates has an extra special edge to it since we are located right in the centre of the City when we play here, which means that you are surrounded on all angles by the most amazing views of the Dubai skyline.

Obviously since we are still in the desert, we are playing on another exposed layout, however, in comparison to last week, the course is much shorter here which means that it will be important to have a little extra strategy to shape some of your shots in and around the greens.

Fortunately for us, there are no strong winds forecast at any point this week – just the traditional afternoon light desert breezes to contend with and seemingly endless days of clear blue sunshine too!

It’s another strong field lined up again this week but I am really looking forward to getting the next challenge underway and hopefully adding to the list of great memories that I already have from playing this tournament!
