Just a short update for you this week since we find ourselves playing once again at Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus for a second consecutive event! As mentioned previously, there is a slightly different format set up for this tournament though…

Following the traditional 36 hole stroke play challenge on Thursday/Friday this week, there will then be a cut which takes only the leading 32 players and ties through to the weekend.

The scores will also be re-set on Saturday and only the top 16 players and ties after another 18 holes will then make it through to Sunday’s final Showdown!

Another complete reset on Sunday morning and the winner of the event will come down to the player with the lowest 18 hole score on Sunday!

To be honest, the shake up of formats will definitely encourage a slightly different mindset since essentially each day needs to be played as if it was your final round. Therefore the best approach is going to be to keep my foot on the pedal throughout, but find a way to save my lowest round of the week for Sunday too!

Not too many changes to the course to report since we finished up last week but, most significantly, the dramatic par 3 seventh hole you saw us playing will become even more challenging over the weekend when will start using the back tee to enhance the risk/reward factor even more!

Off at 8.05am tomorrow morning and already looking forward to what the next challenge brings!
